Small claims

Posting here as I've seen some really good advice and wanted to gain some info. My daughter paid to go on holiday with friends, the friends have turned nasty and she longer wants to go. They have basically bullied her into letting someone take her place.
Thankfully she stood her ground long enough to get the other person to agree to pay half of what she had paid.
She has this in writing in form of a text that the girl will pay her X amount on Y date. If this doesn't happen does she have grounds for small claims?

how much we talking?

but very very unlikely

the friend could say she gave her cash post text

don’t give this another thought - no chance

Yes, she will have grounds. No-one here can say whether it would be worth pursuing or whether she has enough evidence. However, she clearly has evidence of an agreement to pay. If the other girl tries to claim she has paid, she will need to produce some evidence to convince the court that she has indeed paid.

Thank you. She may not take the option but knowing it's there at least is a help.
