Probate

Absolutely clueless here so looking for advice!

How many copies of the grant of probate do I need?

I think it’s a pretty simple estate as we will be keeping the house and it’s just savings and premium bonds to sort!

I got sent 10 by the Probate office. Didn’t request a specific number they just sent them. However I barely used any of them as most organisations I dealt with either accepted a scanned copy or I took into bank branch and they took their own copy.

I’ve only got one. I think the solicitor had one too (it was a complicated one).

Same as @BananaSpanner - we were sent multiple copies and barely needed any. Most people who needed to see it only wanted a scanned copy or to eyeball it.

Perfect thanks everyone I’ll maybe order a couple then as don’t want to be left with loads unused like the death certificates I didn’t really use 🤣

Out of interest, who wanted to see it? I had to show the will and proof that I was executor for most things. Everything was pretty much done by probate being granted. (and then they went back on probate anyway and sent a government valuer out, but that’s another story!)
