The Water Board claimed a sewer pipe serving neighbours needed replacing which crossed my garden. They said they had done a Camera survey (from my neighbours to my right) and pinpointed to problem under my concrete patio at the bottom of my garden and needed to dig it up to carry out the replacement of the pipe. They estimated it would take up to 2 weeks max. The hole would be 2 metres square by 2.5 metres deep. (they agreed to reinstate the Patio) I agreed to their request. They dug and exposed the Pipe and found nothing wrong with it, they then tunnelled under my Garage 3 metres from the hole but could not find any problems with it. They then tunnelled a further 1/1.5 metre to the Chamber in my neighbours garden (my neighbour to my left) where they found the fault was where this pipe joined the Neighbours Chamber (actually in their Garden) So, their survey was well out prior to digging! Had they surveyed from that Chamber they would have found the fault immediately! I appreciate they've promised to reinstate my Patio but this is not compensating us for the disruption / inconvenience we've had? The work has taken 28 days (not 14 days) Mon-Fri 8am-3.30pm, they've had a Mini-Digger / Compressor / Generator running everyday, we could not use our garden or driveway because the Soil (Heavy sticky clay) was bagged (x44) and stored to backfill and the whole area was / is covered with mud (they are jet washing it) so we can't avoid walking it into our house / car. Anyone else experienced this sort of thing? (I have taken Photo's Before / During / After and I have written a timeline of daily events from start to finish) The Patio has not yet been reinstated so more work to come & more disruption.
