Hi all,
My DD (22) reported her ex for DA/DV 7 months ago. He's facing multiple charges.
She gave her statements 2 weeks prior to him being arrested so they could get her medical/hospital records. She also had her own evidence, photos and such.
File was sent to CPS the day of his arrest. He was released on bail awaiting CPS advice. His initial bail period was 3 months. He got rebailed for a further month then again for a further 2 and half months. He's due back any day now and our nerves, yet again, are through the roof, waiting around wondering what's going to happen. Am I right in thinking that the police cannot bail him again if needed? They've to apply to court so then he'll be on court bail?
As far as I'm aware, the CPS have only sent the file back once, for something and nothing but they just needed to clear it up. That was while he was on bail the first time. When he got rebailed last time, (beginning of October) the OIC wasn't happy at the fact that CPS had still not looked at the file after police sent it back again because at their end, they're ready for the arsehole.
It's just frustrating at the moment because it's dragging and while he's apparently swanning around living his best life according to folk, my DDs life is on a loop. I over heard her telling her IDVA a couple of weeks ago that's she's totally fed up with it all. All she does is go to work, come home, wait for news and..repeat. He's threatened someone she knows, messaged someone who asked her on a date so she refused to go. Her IDVA said he's still trying to interfere with her life from a distance and said she'd inform the OIC. DD was so scared because she had no idea how he'd found out about it so she feels like she can't trust anyone anymore.
I know the CPS have to get it right the first time and I know her case is quite complex but has anyone else had a similar experience with the length of time /constant bail extensions etc? What was the outcome?
TIA x
