Small claims court directions questionnaire

I have had to take a company to court to recover money for misold services. The company is contesting the claim. We had to file a directions questionnaire by 20 October which I did and have proof that the letter was received at the county court. But I have heard nothing in the five or six weeks since then. Should I wait a little longer or do I risk missing a deadline (that has gone missing in the post or whatever) by not chasing this? Do I need to be patient?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Contact the court but it doesn't surprise me.

I'm a solicitor. I do high value work and issue in the High Court. Even they take weeks to send documents or notice of CcMc after the DQ is file

Email the court and ask if they have received your dq and when you can expect the directions.
depending on the court it might take 5 days plus to get a reply but it should come eventually.

Unless it is central london county court, in which case don’t bother emailing. You’ll get directions in about Feb 2024.

Thank you - I've emailed the court. Let's see what they have to say.

I work in litigation. Courts are experiencing significant backlogs so the delay you're experiencing isn't unusual. Just keep chasing every few weeks until you receive an allocation notice. It may be that the Defendant hasn't filed a directions questionnaire in which case they'll get an order to file with a second deadline and if they don't file then the defence will be struck out.
