Late filing of report in family court

We're currently waiting for a psychological report to be sent to all parties. The deadline for filing was last week but I have so far not received anything. Is it common for reports to be late?

The waiting is so anxious.

Not uncommon but in the time you took to start this thread you could have asked for an update from the report provider.

I wasn't aware you could trouble them directly to ask them. My Solicitor does a lot of advocacy work and isn't that responsive to emails at the moment as she is currently in Court, but just wanted to know if it was common.

There's nothing to stop you asking them.

Yes there is. Do not do this, that’s not how court appointed experts work. The parties should not be in direct contact with them. It’s frustrating, but ask your solicitor to ask for an update. A week’s delay is not unusual, but they should be keeping you updated.

I know @Collaborate is a family law solicitor so know what is posted is based on knowledge. I just didn't think it was the done thing to ask the report provider themselves. The psychologist gave me their email and mobile number but I didn't want to appear like I was chasing them as I am aware it is a substantial report they need to produce.
