Am in the early stages of changing mine and my 1 year olds surnames to my maiden name after my marriage ended. Ex husband has PR of our son, and has agreed to the name change. I am drafting a letter of consent to accompany the deed poll for my ex to sign. I will be making the deed poll for both my son and myself at the same time. On the letter of consent, do I put my current (old name), or what my surname will revert back to (maiden name)? Just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situ? I don't want to make my deed poll first as I have concerns that my ex will then be difficult about changing our sons name, leaving me with a different name to my son!
