Power of attorney forms filled 'in wrong order'

Hi, wonder if anyone can shed any light - last year my Mum moved house and decided to update her will, inc organising LPA for me. She used a will firm she found online. They were very slow in sending out the relevant paperwork but it eventually arrived, we signed everything as required - witnessed by a friend - and returned the forms. A few weeks later Mum received a letter saying the forms had been completed "in the wrong order" and needed to be done again. We couldn't figure out what they meant - i asked her to contact them for an explaination but she hasn't yet and seems disinclined to do so. Trouble is they've sent us new forms to do, but if we don't know where we went wrong the first time there's a chance we could make the same mistake again.

Did you sign before your mum signed? Were they all signed and witnessed with the same date?

Currently going through the exact same thing. I think it’s that section 15? The last one needs to be signed last of all. All I’m going to do is date then all the same date then there’s no arguing!!

Yes, they were all signed and witnessed on the same day, at my Mum's home as she was doing it via an online company. We just worked through them methodically. There was no one from the company present to see the order they were signed in so how they can say we got it "wrong" i don't know.
Yes @Cauliflowercheeses I could cheerfully scream esp as Mum's dragging her heels over asking them to clarify

They could only surmise the order of signing due to the dates being different and in the wrong order time wise. I made sure all dates were the same then this can’t happen.

An online form will know which order they were signed in, maybe? On the same date but certain sections have to be signed first. Honestly I’m losing the will to live with mine. They just sitting getting on my nerves now as can’t be bothered going round everyone getting all signed and witnessed again 🤯

Ah no, although it's an online company the forms were sent, paper form, in the post, signed & dated - same date as done on the same day - and returned. Losing the will to live is about right, not helped that the company aren't the fastest at getting in touch
