Executor Accounts

Any solicitors or bankers around?

I'm sole executor for a UK will but I can't find a bank who will allow me to open an executor account because I'm not a UK resident. She's also saying she won't pay into an account in my name even if it's solely used for this purpose.

I'd rather avoid using her client account as there's a lot of beneficiaries.

Any suggestions?

Who is “she” and why does having multiple beneficiaries become a problem if you use a solicitor and handle the cash via Client account?

being offshore does make life harder

Sorry, she is the solicitor!

Increased costs....plus she hasn't suggested this is an option.

I used an old dormant account of mine as an executor account, no one had a problem paying into this account e.g. Pensions etc

I also didn't use a solicitor though, I did probate myself as it was straightforward.

@Homewoes22 I also did probate myself but am having to use a solicitor for conveyancing. I think she's being overly rigid in her interpretation but it's a contentious probate so I'm being cautious

My FiL is currently using his normal bank account for the liquidated assets of MiL. Some of them have requested a copy of the will to prove he is the executor.
