Hi, I feel like my solicitor keeps my monies. After accident I agreed to the settelment and my solicitors recived damages around middle of july this year.
They have my bank details but I still didnt recived any money.
I send 2 emails meanwhile asking about payment and they responded they hope it will be few days.
Can they witheld my money without any reason?

Thanks

Just keep chasing them. If they continue to withhold email the managing partner

You are entitled to interest- I think it's 8% on the money they are withholding. Write and email stating this and tell them they have x amount of days (e.g. 10 days) to deposit to your account - with the interest- or you are taking the next formal step in their complaints procedure. They should have sent you this information when you signed their terms and conditions.
Finally check their bill carefully which should give a proper breakdown of charges.

As a previous poster says, you need to contact the managing partner. You don't seem to be getting anywhere with your solicitor. Texting another solicitor within the firm isn't going to get you anywhere unless they happen to be the managing partner.

I would complain to legal ombudsman but first need to complain to the solicitors boss.

Is this good enough?

I put very little information

Formal complaint about G and B

Dear Mr. S
I am writing to make a formal complaint against ... and ... My complaint is that they failed to provide me with satisfactory service when

obligated to keep me updated on my claim and promplty return my money.

After accepting settlement on 20th June 2023, I was not informed about damages.
I recived email on 14th of August 2023 that my payment would be in few days.

My complaint is that Mr... and Mr... fail to let me know about reciving damages and didnt replay my emails and text messages.
I been mislead about reciving my money.

This situation has caused me emotional distress and financial issues, it's impacted my young daughter also because I am single parent.

I my view you should payout my outstanding monies in few days. Until 09.09.2023.

I understand that you are required to respond formally to my complaint.
I shall fallow up this letter If I do not hear back from you by 09.09.2023.
In the meantime if you need any further information from me, telephone me on the above number.

I look forward to hearing from you in the very near future.

Yours sincerely

Small suggestion. I'm not an expert.

Formal complaint about G and B

Dear Mr. S

I am writing to make a formal complaint against ... and ... in the matter of [my case name and reference number]. Damages of [£123] have been awarded but they have failed to keep me updated on my claim and to promptly remit my money. This unsatisfactory service is a dereliction of their professional and legal obligations to me.

After accepting settlement on 20th June 2023, I was not informed about damages. I received an email on 14th of August 2023 that my payment would be made in a few days.

Mr... and Mr... did not inform me of the damages and failed to reply to my emails and text messages.

I believe they have misled me.

This situation has caused me emotional distress and financial issues, it's impacted my young daughter also because I am a single parent.

I now require payment of all outstanding monies by 9th September 2023, plus interest of 8% per annum dated from 20th June.

I understand that you are required to respond formally to my complaint.

I shall follow this letter with an appeal to the [ombudsman] if I do not receive payment by the 9th September.

In the meantime if you need any further information from me, telephone me on the above number.

I look forward to hearing from you in the very near future.

Yours sincerely

Who are the solicitors? How much do they owe you?

plumtreebroke · 05/09/2023 13:51

If they are bankrupt you may well not get your money back, you will be one of many creditors. You need to contact whoever is handling the bankruptcy and put in a claim and hope for the best.

Komahr · 05/09/2023 14:16

It's unofficial so Idk if I can tell the name of company, its from Lyndhurst in Hampshire.
I agreed with my first offer so they only recived 3000 and after their cost for me it's around 2100.
But always It was my money and now it's lost..😥
