I wondered if I could ask a question about copyright?
I'm helping my old university supervisor to make sure his work is accessible for future generations. We are trying to work out how to make his book 100% readable on google books. Google has scanned them, but currently only a small bit shows.
He has copyright on the text and pictures, but the book fly leaf says the text can't be reproduced without permission of the publishers. I'm having difficulty getting that because the book is so old that the publisher denies all knowledge of it.
I wondered if you think it matters with a book that has been out of print for over 30 years, and that the publisher has forgotten about?
