help with hire courtesy car bill

I am being pursued by a CMC for a £10k hire car Bill. This relates to an accident in 2020. My insurer is not accepting liability as they say the CMC was not one their approved car hire companies. I am unsure how I was put in touch with the CMC. The insurer also says the other party to yhe accident didn't accept any liability so they can't recover costs. Any advice pls

Take paid for legal advice.

Not a lot you can do. CMCs are the devil, but you will have signed an agreement when you agreed to take the car. If you fail to pay them, they will pursue you and you could end up with a CCJ. Take proper legal advice by all means, but there's likely to be very little you can do.

yes I did sign the agreement unfortunately but thought my insurer would cover it. They are refusing. The daily rate the CMC are charging me is extortionate.

What sort of car and how long did you have it for?
