Holiday insurance won't cover delayed return

Asking for a friend who is on holiday in Spain. Her husband has has a heart attack, and been told by the Doctor there not to travel for 4 weeks. He has had 2 stents fitted and is making a good recovery. They have their own place, so claiming only for flights. Travel insurance saying that their doctors think he is fit to travel - he is afraid to and the doctor in Spain told him 4 weeks, is there anything they can do or say to the insurance to get them to cover the delayed flights?

Thank you, he is trying to see the doctor again, the problem is he is afraid, I did send them this.

I think he needs to spell it out to the doctor that his insurance won’t cover him if he stays out there for 4 weeks.
would a train back be an option?

That must have been a scary ordeal, I hope he is ok soon. I would just buy new flights tbh, if there is a fairly cheap deal a month from now (seeing as they have their own place anyway).

Could he get a one way cruise ship trip home?

His fear isn't an Insurable risk.

If they have their own place surely two cheap flights when he is ready to travel won't cost too much without the hassle of going through insurance?

Thank you for the replies, they have it sorted now, got their own flights, all sorted.
