Help understanding CAO

In brief, CAO been in place since May. Father gets 6 weeks holiday (a year) Mother gets the rest. Says holidays must be taken in 7 day blocks by both Mother and Father. Holidays to be agreed by both parents etc.

My ex is already being difficult. In my mind he gets 6 x 7 day weeks and the rest is with me as per the order.

He is saying half terms should be 7 days to parent A and the remaining weekend to parent B. I’m saying he gets 7 days I get the rest.

He is also saying that for Easter we should split down the middle or each have 7 days with the remaining time being the usual agreement shouldn’t apply for the rest of the holiday. I am saying I get the first full week and he can have Sunday from 12 noon until Sunday at 12 noon which is his 7 days.

Who is right?

I agree with your interpretation. He'd be getting more than 42 days per year if he went by his interpretation.
With half terms, if he has 7 days then you get the extra weekend (and any inset attached to the half term)

Has it been decided how the 7 days are spread throughout the year?

No it’s been left completely open how the holidays are split. He is being difficult because he wanted a week in the summer I wouldn’t agree to.

School holidays are when school is shut. So in the case of Easter holidays he gets 7 days and you get the rest even if it's more than 7 days. If he wants 50% of school holidays then he needs to go back to court and request that. The CAO gives you more than 50% of school holidays as there are 13 weeks of school holidays a year and he has 6 weeks.

I think the issue is the wording of the 7 day blocks…

Missed the bit about the 7 day blocks applying to mother too.
My answer is different then

9 day half term should be 7 days parent A, 2 days parent B
Easter holidays he gets 7 days and you get rest but the bit about you not being allowed to have more than 7 days in a row is restrictive. Say Easter is 16 days , that means in order to follow the order you'd have 2 days then you both have 7 days each which is not always going to be flexible enough for real life.

Thx you. It is a pain. He is trying to be purposely difficult to try and get his own way! I really need Friday through Sunday at Easter and he will purposely dig his heels in cos of the 7 day rule.
