I'm hoping someone with legal knowledge can interpret this section from a relatives will:

"I give the rest of my net estate real and personal after payment of my debts, funeral expenses and testamentary expenses to be divided equally between such of my son and my daughter as shall be living at my death and if more than one in equal shares absolutely provided that if any of my said children dies before me but there are children of his or hers living at my death who attain the age if 18, those children shall take in equal shares the share which their parent otherwise would of taken."

Will shares everything equally between son and daughter

if anyone of them die their share goes to their children once they reach age 18

Which bit do you need help with?

I'm on the app so can't see the text while I am typing but I believe it says the net estate is divided equally between the deceased's children who are living at death unless any child of the deceased that died had children who were 18 or over at the time the deceased died.

Poster above is correct (I said I was doing it from memory). Grandchildren don't have to have reached 18 at the time of the deceased's death.

Thank you, I couldn't get through the legalise but your explanations have cleared my confusion.

Who wrote this? Would a lawyer write “would of taken” (when they meant “would have taken”)?

Sorry, I re typed this from text as I didn't want to scan with names. Careless typo on my part Blush
