Subject access request - received but password protected

Hi mumsnetters,

I won't bore you with the long background but I sent a subject access request to a company just over a month ago. I've received a link back to access my information but it's password protected. I've written back to request the password but no response.

I've good reason to believe that this company want to hide some particular information that I had been requesting by email for months prior to this, hence the reason for my subject access request.

Does anyone have any advice about what I should do next?

Check your spam folder. I often find that, when someone sends me a password protected document and then sends the password separately, the email with the password ends up there.

If you definitely haven't had the password, chase them again. Point out that they haven't actually supplied the requested information until they send you the password. If that doesn't get you anywhere, it is time to talk to the ICO.

Tell them that password protected is non compliance with the request. Tell them 7 days to provide password or you will report to ICO
