CLARES LAW!!!

Ive reported Domestic abuse to the police numerous times so they are aware of that situation.

I had a tip off from CAFCASS that ex partner has a conviction of battery. I was told to apply for Clare’s law myself.

Ive applied because I need to know more about this conviction including when it was. However im a bit confused whether or not they will tell me?

if it’s BATTERY but not in a domestic violence related incident (eg- pub fight) would they still tell me? In my eyes, if he is a violent person that’s also made threats to me then I should be made aware, especially as the professionals saw it as an issue.

Any help or advice please

Are you still with this person? You refer to him as an ex partner, is this the partner you have reported DV about?

I thought it was about informing someone of the risk from a current partner.

We are not together, however if you Google Clare’s law is for current and ex partners. As we share a child I have the right to know if he is a danger etc because he would still be in my life. I was given this advice from police and cafcass
