Completion date for house help?

Hello hope whoever is reading is doing good today. So I'm in the process of buying a house (first time) After ringing the solicitors for 2 weeks constantly I've finally gotten an appointment for tomorrow to discuss the completion date. Everything else my solicitor was waiting for has come through and it's literally a case of confirming a date sending funds and picking up the keys. What's a reasonable amount of time without being cocky. The seller wants it done ASAP too. His solicitor went AWOL for abit and everyones abit fed up but its normal i kmow in these things. I was going to say Monday next week so that gives a full week but some people are saying say Friday the same week. Just want to know other people s experiences/advice. Thankyou

Well, we exchanged and completed on the same day.
We'd been trying to exchange for about 2 weeks at that point....
I would suggest longer than an hour - it made for a very long day for the family in the middle who were both moving out and moving in on the same day. It was fine for us as we had both sets of keys for a bit.

There will be a minimium time for mortgage draw downs to happen and deposits to be transfered. I think that will be the limiting factor.
Friday or Monday both sound possible - although Monday probably better. Everyone wants to move on Fridays, and Solicitors get busy, as do removal companies. It also means if there is an issue, you need to wait until Monday to resolve.

@CatsOnTheChair . I think I will say next Monday. We are going from renting and the seller is going into renting. As soon as we have the keys we can give our 4 week notice here and start making the changes to the house we need which luckily are all decor related and then move after a month. Thankyou.
