Title deeds and ID Discrepancy

We are looking to Remortgage our house, the title deeds have our double barrelled married name on (same as our bank accounts). However, all our ID only has our single names on.

I.E. title deeds and bank accounts say Kalodin Mums-Net but my ID only says Kalodin Mums. Likewise for DH.

We have never experienced an issue here. With our bank they only required our marriage certificate and qhen we travel we usually travel in our single names. GP has our married name, likewise most of utility bills do too, as well as poll cards etc.

When we bought this house, we only had the single name IDs and then we showed the solictors our marriage certificate to enable them to understand the double barrelled names on our bank accounts.

However, it appears this isn't sufficient when Remortgaging.

They are stating the only form of ID they will find acceptable is a passport! But we don't have time to renew those and go through that. They've left it so last minute to request this too. The marriage certificate isn't sufficient to explain the name Discrepancy between our IDs and the title deeds and bank accounts.

What do I do here? Do I just have to suck up the waiting time here for the passports?

You’re just going to have to wait to remortgage until you have ID.

So frustrating as it wasn't an issue last time around. Did the solictor mess up last time or has the law changed?

As I always thought you could, legally, keep using maiden names or married names, as long as it wasn't for fraud etc. At work I use my maiden name.
