Company changing terms and conditions

What is the legal status with compa ies changing their terms and conditions.

I signed up to and have paid for a service plan for my car which includes three MOTs and three services. The original t&Cs said free collection and delivery was parr of it and was one of the main reasons why it was chosen.

Now, about 7 months after starting thr payments, free collection and delivery has been scrapped with a £30 charge (I'm 1.5 miles away).

Are they allowed to just change it? I hasten to add that none of that was communicated with me so thought I had been put through to the wrong service plan.

No-one can answer that question without seeing the whole agreement.

OK, thanks. I had hoped it might be something in consumer rights that didn't allow them to change without consultation/communication but I think I may be getting my hopes up sadly.

Generally there may be something in the t&cs saying they can change things

There is nothing relevant in the terms you have posted. Indeed, any term that gave them the ability to change the service without notice and without giving the consumer a way out of the contract could be an unfair term. My view is that they are in breach of contract and should provide the service you paid for.

Thank you, that's very helpful. I've got the manager of the local dealership on the case sp hopefully there will be an outcome soon.
