Home legal cover

I’m thinking about using the legal cover I have on my home insurance policy. Can anyone on here explain how this works? Do I have to use a solicitor appointed by my home insurance company? I’m guessing if I lose I will have to pay increased premiums. Would I have to pay increased premiums even if I win? Would using the legal cover take away my no claims. I’m worried about how much my premiums would go up. Is it worth claiming?
TIA

Impossible to say really without knowing the details of your policy! You need to dig out the details and see what's covered? Sometimes it's just a helpline and first stage advice, or cover up to a certain amount of legal fees.

Depending on how big the legal issue is, I wouldn't worry too much aboutthe no claims - after all, this is precisely what insurance is all about!
