Hi all,

Could someone tell me the difference between an SQE Apprentice and a trainee solicitor? I have a legal aid SQE apprentice and I’m just trying to work out the difference?

Many Thanks

A trainee solicitor will have passed the LPC (an expensive course on legal practice) and will be qualified after 2 years. SQE (as you know) is more “on the job learning” and you need to
pass the exam and do a certain amount of “qualifying” practice before you can qualify.

That’s my understanding anyway.
