Unfinished Solar installation

We signed up in Sept 22 to have solar panels installed on our house and garage, plus batteries and connection to the grid. We were told it would be a 10-12 completion time (so we would be up/running by early this year). Payment in 3 stages.

We had the panels installed on the house just before Christmas. Not connected to anything.

Since then.....nothing. Countless emails/phonecalls ignored.

The company is still in existence and trying to sign up new customers (I used my maiden name email and approached them...they got back to me promising...yep....10-12 week from start to finish installation.)

So we have 8 panels on the roof which are not connected to anything...so in essence pointless......and nothing else.

What is the best next step?
HIES (Energy ombudsman..though they do not appear to carry much weight)
Solicitor?
Credit card charge-back?

We want solar...but cannot really even think of pursuing another company with the panels already on the roof.

Write to them, it can be by email but better to send first class mail with proof of posting, setting out the timeline and every time you've contacted them and nothing has happened. Give them a set time to fix things - you've waited long enough - or remove the panels and refund you. Then contact your credit card company if they do nothing. You're much more likely to get your money back quickly doing that than pursuing this company via the courts.

How much have you already paid? Do you have the battery? Have you followed their complaints procedure?
