Daughter who lives overseas, has taken out a loan from her UK bank which, for Mail purposes, she uses my home address.
She can't pay back. I'm in no position to help. Is this debt, as the account is registered to my home address, going to have an adverse effect on my home? Or me come to that?

No. Although I imagine her fraudulently using your address will cause her issues if she plans to come back to the U.K.!

although another person is using your address to take out credit, this should have no effect on your personal credit rating. However, you could contact credit reference agencies such as Equifax, Experian and Call Credit and ask them to put a ‘Notice of Correction’ on the account.

You are not liable. Your daughter is solely responsible and you should require her to deal with any fallout. Should the lender escalate, however, you will need to be prepared to receive telephone calls (if you have a publicly listed landline at home) and visits from debt collection agents chasing repayment as they'll assume that DD lives at your address. You are not obliged to let them in or speak to them. The most sensible approach would be notice of correction as PP advised, and being prepared to show any debt collectors your ID and confirm that DD does not live there and used your address for correspondence purposes (presumably without your knowledge.)

Thank you, I feel somewhat reassured.

I don't have a landline so I'm not going to get calls. I was concerned that Bailiffs might try and get in the house.
