Management Agent using my address

I moved into a rented property about 6 months ago, I've never rented before so this is all new to me! Very early on in the tenancy my landlord switched from a reputable company to a sole agent, I've never spoken to the managing agent or had any contact with them.

This morning some post arrived and there was a letter addressed to the management agent, my dog attacked the post before I could get there, and it's evident from the tattered envelope that the management agent has opened a bank account using my address.

Are they allowed to do this? Obviously it's not my house, but I have a tenancy and would assume that no one else should be using this address for finances etc????

I would be marking it as "not known at this address" and sending it back.

I would ring them in case it’s fraud (ie a third party has somehow linked their name and your address) . Someone once used public info to try and open a bank account in my name and it went through the first round of checks before luckily being declined.
