ForeCourt Eye - possible GDPR breach

I have just received a letter this morning from ForeCourt eye telling me that I had driven off without paying for petrol at the end of January. The letter requires me to pay the cost of the fuel plus an admin charge of £60 reduced to £30 if I pay up withing 14 days.
I have checked my bank account and I did visit the garage on that day and paid for what looks like snacks. I can remember the day because the alarms in the garage were going off, the queue to pay was getting very agitated because the cashier was not taking payment but was dealing with the alarms and the man behind me was kicking up a stink because he needed to pay and be gone.
I can't remember if I got fuel - but I may well have, and if so will pay.
Here is where I am annoyed.
Forecourt eye include photographic evidence of the crime. However the photos sent to me are of a different person, at a different garage, in a different car, for a different amount of money. Which probably means that photos of me, with my car have been sent to someone else. Is this a GDPR breach? How should I progress?

You should report it to the Data Controller at the company to investigate and notify ICO as it definitely is a breach.

Contact them and report it as a breach - it's almost certainly not a breach which will be reportable to the ICO (because the likelihood of harm being caused to you by the breach is not significant), but they should investigate why the breach has happened, review their processes to make sure it doesn't happen again and apologise to you.

In addition, you have the right to seek compensation for distress caused by a breach so probably worth, as a minimum, asking for your ticket to be cancelled as well.

They have agreed to cancel the admin charge and I'm happy to pay for the petrol.
They assured me that this had never happened before and that my photo had not been printed or sent!!
