Retainer fees

My sister has paid a retainer to a personal trainer as she was away working.

My sister has now returned but the PT has unexpectedly been offered a different job and won't be able to train my sister again.

Should the retainer be returned by the PT? My sister wants to be fair.

I can't find any information online. Thank you.

No legal training here but surely the PT owes your sister the money? The whole idea of a retainer is that she remains available.

Without knowing the terms of the retainer, it is impossible to answer. Was there any agreement as to what the retainer was for?
