Bank statement disclosure

Just asking for advice for a friend who is currently going through a divorce.

She supplied bank statements, as request for the financial part of the divorce but her personal bank statement has been sent directly to her ex along with other information, while she has just received his account balances.

Is this correct that he has been sent her bank statement?

It doesn't seem right to me, especially as there has been abuse (physical and mental) during the relationship and since she has ended it

Yes, it is correct that he has been sent her bank statement. When completing Form E, you are required to give bank statements for each account covering the last 12 months. If he has only provided account balances, that is insufficient. He must provide statements.

Why would he need to see her bank statement in detail though? Especially when there has been evidence of harassment and coercive control.

To ensure that there is full and honest financial disclosure so that they can reach a fair settlement or, failing that, the court has the information it needs to decide what the settlement should be.

Ah ok.

Thank you @prh47bridge
I have now heard back from her that his should have been sent to her too, but it wasn't attached
