Hi. I was wondering if anyone here has asked for a "pin" from the police? Just to warn someone to stay away pretty much.
How do you apply?
How easy is the process?

Thank you

A PIN is basically a first warning for harassment. Not all forces use them.

You'll need to make a complaint of harassment to the police and discuss the options with them. They'll need to investigate.

Keep any evidence you have - text messages, answerphone messages, CCTV or Ring doorbell footage - whatever you have or can get. The police will need to see it as part of the investigation.

I didn't ask for one, but I was being harassed and stalked by someone and reported it to the police. They gave the person in question a PIN and their harassment has massively reduced since. It's a reasonable first step in some cases imo. In my case the harassment was all online. If there was any physical contact between myself and my stalker I'd have been less happy with a PIN.
