Good morning

can anyone advise of what I need to do with my recently deceased mothers bank account. She has no will, she did not own a property or anything there is just some money in savings and I am the only child. I am presuming there will not be any probate due to this so legally apart from informing the bank do I need to do anything? Thanks

Firstly I’m sorry for your loss.
Secondly, are you in England? I know the rules may be different in other countries.

There is a good Citizens Advice page here…

When my mum died the banks had special departments to deal with this, mostly they were very helpful.
