I'm not sure this is a legal matter but not sure where else to post. Hoping someone on here can help or point me in the right direction.
So....we live in a privately rented property. We are very very rural which we love but it has its cons, one being out Wi-Fi speed is ridiculously slow. Last year our landlord who lives half a mile down the road had airband installed to his house. He emailed us and said he could get it installed at our property along with our neighbours (also his house) he said we'd have to pay half with our neighbours and he'd pay the other half. After thinking about it we emailed back saying we weren't prepared to pay the nearly £500 as we weren't sure how long we'd be staying at the property as we'd soon to be looking at buying. The following month we had an email saying an engineer would be coming to install the airband followed by an email saying could we please transfer the money for it. I ended up just paying for it as I was worried he'd put out rent up even more (it's already gone up £300 a month since we moved in 4 years ago) Anyway there is now a problem with our airband and our landlord is saying he won't pay for the repairs as he had to pay to have it installed. I don't really know where we stand with this. I feel like he has us over a barrel. Can anyone help please?
