DH has announced he wants to separate and is getting a solicitor. I know he’s going to get nasty (he already is). He earns a lot more than me and will get the best solicitor he can. Where can I go to get a good solicitor/ legal advice that won’t cost me the earth. I’m not interested in taking him for everything he’s got as he’s accusing but am mainly concerned about custody arrangements for the kids.

I'm really sorry to hear this.

Word of mouth is good - do you know anyone locally who has got divorced and been happy with their solicitor?

If you don't manage to obtain a personal recommendation (which is the best option) an alternative is to Google "Law Society Find A Solicitor" which is a searchable database which you can filter by location and specialism
