Child orders and school collecting

So my children are currently at their dads as he will not return them back to my care and will not allow me to have contact. There is NO child arrangements order in place, we both have PR. However what I need the answer to is this-
I went to the school to take my children out for lunch and then return them however the school then said they wanted to check their system and see if any legal orders are in place there wasn’t, (still isn’t) they then called dad in which he turned up at the school and was very aggressive and over powering.. do the school have to inform him that I am collecting my children? I know they can’t stop me but by calling him they are doing just that? I am so frustrated!

If there is no paperwork then they can't and shouldn't get involved. Even with child arrangement orders schools don't like to get involved.

What happened? Did you take the children or did he?

People keep saying that schools can't do this. They can. It may be, for example, that dad has suggested that there are safeguarding risks, in which case there is no problem with the school stalling until he arrives. You need to get a child arrangements order in place.

As prh says, schools do this on a regular basis, if they have reason to believe there are good reasons that a parent should not take their child. We have no idea why he is doing this, there may or may not be good reasons, but delaying and telling the other parent is not unusual or against the law.

And i would imagine you turning up in the middle of the day rang alarm bells too - it could easily have looked to school more like you were trying to take the children at a time you knew he wouldn't be there.
