ExH name still on house deed

I don't even know where to start with this! My divorce finalised last February and I bought him out of the house. The same solicitor who managed the mortgage managed the deed changes - but apparently they didn't. I have just done a land registry search and his name is still on there.

Does anyone know what the implications of this are and how it is corrected? I have emailed the solicitor but won't hear back til tomorrow and am having a major panic

You need to contact the solicitor and get it sorted - at their cost - ASAP!!!

Definitely check with the solicitor. I recall reading that the land registry updates were taking some time to process so hopefully it is just something like that.

The Land Registry is taking ages at the moment.
Their business customers are able to check if there’s an application on a title waiting to be processed. Maybe see if they offer that for the general public too?

It can take well over a year for the Land Registry to process a change of ownership at the moment. By all means check with your solicitor, but I wouldn't be surprised to find that the transfer has been submitted to the Land Registry and they haven't processed it yet.

Thank you everyone. You are calming me down nicely. I will contact my solicitor again tomorrow and see where we are before I panic!

Land registry are useless. Registration of a simple matrimonial homes notice took 12 months.
It's probably just sitting in a pile somewhere

If you have a divorce court order and you’ve bought him out you”ll be fine. That records the beneficial ownership even if the legal title hasn’t yet been changed.
