Hi all, I’m selling my house to move in with my partner. I will use the equity in my house to pay me partner half the value of his, and he will use the majority of that to pay off the mortgage. We’ll then do a transfer of equity 50/50 as joint tenants, and write wills.
Once my house is sold, can the timing of this all coincide? I think it’s mutually sensible for me to pay over the funds, and my partner redeem his mortgage at the point the transfer goes through. Can this be organised through one solicitor so that the timing all lines up?
