Royal Mail delivery not received

I wonder if anyone has any advice for me.
I ordered good from Boots.com, received a text from Royal Mail that is has been delivered but when I got home that day I could not locate the package. I checked in obvious places, asked neighbour’s but nothing, can only assume it’s stolen.

my issue now is that Boots will not refund or replace the items as they say following an investigation (which took 1 month) there is nothing they can do
as Royal Mail tracking shows parcel was delivered.
I have no authorisation to leave my package unattended or in a safe place.

how can I get my money back?

As you did not give any authorisation to leave your package unattended or in a safe place, Boots are liable even if the goods were stolen while you were out. Point out to them that the parcel has clearly not been delivered to you personally and that, if it was delivered to your address while you were out, it was left unattended without permission and was not there when you returned home. Remind them that, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 section 28, they are responsible for delivering the goods safely. As they have failed to deliver the goods, far from there being nothing they can do, they must give you a full refund.

If they continue to refuse, send them a letter before action - that is a letter setting out what has happened, saying what you want (a full refund - specify how much that is) and giving them a reasonable time to respond (28 days is normal). State that, if they fail to respond satisfactorily within that time, you expect to start legal action without further notice. If they fail to provide a full refund, you will then be able to start a small claim against them. You won't need a lawyer.

Royal Mail have not delivered to me for
10 days up to today 9 July 2024. How can i contact them? For a deaf 99 year old their national customer phone number is useless. The only customer counter in Ipswich closes at 10 am and I cannot get there by then! Any helpful suggestions?

All my couriers/posties leave photos of where they’ve left stuff, and leave a card stating where.

Having said that, the RM are crap. I dread getting any delivery from them.
