Car ownership

My step mum died over Christmas. It's obviously awful and I loved her deeply. I don't live close by but i am trying to support my dad and sister with some of the practicalities.
There was no will so all goes to dad, but he wants the car (which was in mums name) to go to my sister as she's uses it to visit him and get all his shopping. Will it have to go into dads name first or can we transfer it straight to my sister as long as we include it in the probate valuation?
Thanks.

Who is the executor?

I’d just put it in sisters name sure u can do it online if u have v5 document

Dad will be the executor and sole recipient. We only need to apply for letters of administration.

What is recorded is the car's keeper, not the owner.
Is there any proof your Dad isn't the owner?
I suspect (from my experience of going along with her partner to sell my deceased Mum's car to WeBuyAnyCar - I took the view 'their' cars were jointly owned) it can be just simply transferred to sis.

Who is the executor?

There's no will.

Do you have the V5 document? You can just fill it in for your sister and send off to DVLA (I think).

If you dad is both the executor and the sole beneficiary then he can distribute the assets as he likes as long as he accurately reports the value of the estate for tax purposes.
