Ok so I know someone who is marrying a non UK resident in attempt to get them into country to live.

Is it as easy as that??

I'm not supportive of this I'm merely asking if anyone knows. The 'relationship' isn't genuine!

No, it isn't. The non-UK resident may be refused permission to stay in the UK or, if the authorities find out after permission has been granted, permission may be cancelled. The UK resident may be prosecuted for facilitating someone to enter the UK illegally, conspiracy, deception and/or perjury. I'm sure some people get away with sham marriages like this, but there are risks for both parties.
