Joint tenants or tenants in common?

I'm buying a house with my partner (we're marrying in April 2023) and wondered which is best to be on the deeds.

I have 2 children from a previous relationship that I'd like to inherit my half of the house which seems to suggest tenants in common? Are there any downsides to this? Thanks

Your husband to be may have a claim against your estate if he has to sell his home when you die - or would you be prepared for him to leave his half of the house to others in the event he dies first? Consider giving him a life interest in your half and vice-versa.

Thank you! I'll look into that. He's happy for his half to go to me but obviously things can change!
