Hi all,
Currently 3rd year into family court proceedings.
Have just had a cafcass guardian appointed.
Can anyone shed any light on their experiences with cafcass guardians? I am keeping all my communication to the point and child focussed.
What should I do/not do?
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Take it this is due to domestic abuse and safeguarding then?
what’s your position in all of it?

Yes correct. I'm the respondent mother. I haven't ever opposed contact but have made it v clear she is not safe at all in his care unsupervised.

CAfcass are listened to by the court because they gather all evidence. They report what they think is best for the child. The judge listens to other evidence and can disagree with CAfcass. Ultimately you cannot tell the judge what to decide after they have heard all the evidence. Your best bet is to say why you think time with dad should be supervised but they don’t have to agree with you. Are you represented?
