DVLA

I am regularly receiving letters for a previous resident at my address from the Dvla for car tax.

I cannot resolve this with the addressee.
I have returned several to the Dvla already marked not known at this address but they keep coming.

Is it illegal to knowingly register your car at a different address? Does anyone have prior experience?

Does this mean the person's car insurance will be invalid?

Can you ring the dvla about it?

It is an offence to fail to notify DVLA of a change of address for both your driving license and any vehicles where you are the registered keeper. It carries a fine of up to £1,000. However, it will not invalidate the individual's car insurance.

I had this - I was getting letters from the DVLA and a tonne of parking and speeding fines.

DVLA sorted it out - I think I called them and they sent a form for me to fill in. Both the fines and the DVLA letters stopped shortly afterwards.
