Probate/transfer of equity

The sole owner of a mortgage free property has passed away. The will states the beneficiaries who are the deceased’s children but that the deceased’s spouse is able to remain in the property until death or remarriage. All parties are aware of the terms of the will and there is no dispute. I’ve no experience of a transfer of equity on a mortgage free property - will this be dealt with as part of probate or does a separate application to the land registry need to be made to record the new owners? There is no inheritance tax liability and other assets are cash at the bank, which is in a joint account (deceased and their spouse) so that’s clear cut. Thank you

We are just close to concluding a similar thing following my Dad's death last year. The will and probate was dealt with by one solicitor, and the transfer of the property by another solicitor (within the same firm). We are still waiting for confirmation from the land registry as there's apparently a huge backlog.
