My son is a student and privately rented a house with 5 others last year.
he left at the end of August and it looks like the landlord used his name on the utility bills as he was the first one in.
Bills were sent marked for his attention, and he would collate the money and send on by transfer.
it’s seems that the meter wasn’t read during the period of the tenancy, and now the final bills have started coming to my house? £2k for electricity, £350 for water, all in my sons name.
How do we proceed, I have a copy is the AST naming all of the students and although they are international they are all still at the Uni in their final years
any good advice legal would be very well appreciated!
