Hi.

Does anyone know how much a solicitor will charge to attend a Police interview. I've been advised to instruct my own, rather than get a duty solicitor.

Thank you.

I charge by the hour. I then charge per minute if for sxnole I'm there for 2 hours and 17 minutes I have the full two hour pay and then per minute for the 17. If passed the 45 minutes I charge the full hour

Thank you. How much do you actually charge though, in pounds and pence? I have absolutely no idea about anything like this.

Am I looking at £100? £1000? I'm literally clueless.

Thanks again.

Charges vary enormously across the country. Ask local solicitors what they will charge.

If its done at the police station it should be free.
Is this a voluntary interview or is it planned arrest?

Either way, they should be able to contact a solicitor of your choice to attend the police station for interview for free.

If the interview is being done away from the police station - at your home for example - then you will have to cover the payment

Hi,
It was voluntary and I found out that I could instruct a solicitor of my choice. It was free. I'm glad they were there, made everything much easier to understand.

Thank you.
