Small claims court for airline

I just wondered if anyone has had any experience using small claims with an airline?

Basically we had two connecting flights booked and when we tried to check in the night before flying we discovered the first leg had been cancelled.

A lot of stress and phone calls later we managed to do the first leg from another airport but had to pay £200 to get there.

When I complained to the airline they said they emailed us about the flight cancellation two months before. They did email but to confirm the flight!

By understanding under EU regs we should be due the outward flights, the taxi fare and compensation but the airline are literally ghosting me.

They are not responding to any communication and I have gone through the whole Resolver process with no response whatsoever.

I know considering small claims and wondered if anyone has experience of this?

This will turn on whether they informed you of the cancellation 2 months before the flight as the airline claims. If they did, you are not due any compensation. If they didn't give at least 2 weeks' notice, you are due compensation.

Yes this is what they are claiming but they have sent no evidence of this. We did receive emails (which we sent them copies of) on the dates they say they emailed but they CONFIRMED the flight!
