On the 8th September we received an email telling us of impending eviction due to owner wanting to sell
does anyone know details of Scottish government’s announcement disallowing rent increases and evictions.
before we moved in they told previous tenants they were selling only to rent to us for more.
the building is falling apart, gutters have never been cleaned with some falling down and hole into my loft.
I am so stressed with my mum being diagnosed with dementia also.
does anyone have any advice?

thank you

No real advice but I thought evictions were paused from 6th September to end of March. Bumping for someone knowledgable.

What type of tenancy do you have?
Looks like they want to get you out before new rules come in.

But they're probably too late.

This area of law can be quite complex it may be best to get advice from Shelter if you can to ensure you get the right info.

Hi @Acat123

we are in the same position and I just wondered how you’re getting on and what advice you might have been given?

our landlord is intending to service notice and says he is selling due to financial hardship, meaning the ban on evictions doesn’t apply.

hi ItsCorn89

i suggested to my landlord that they sell with us as sitting tenants and this week after we had 7 landlords viewing and being on sale for a week, they have accepted an offer. Do you think maybe yours could try that? What area are you in?
I spoke to shelter who told me not to go on the date told as if you need council accommodation you would not get as you would be intentionally making yourself homeless.
have you contacted your local council to do a housing options?
also contact any housing associations.
i would also contact an organisation called Living Rent. They were really helpful and there will be people local to you that you can meet up with.
good luck and please let me know how you get on xxx
