Shepherds hut/garden room - airbnb

I am considering investing in a shepherds hut or yurt or similar ‘temporary’ structure to set up on our property as a holiday let for some extra income. However I’m not 100% sure on the legality of doing this year round, I know about the 56 day rule but ideally we would be running this all year.

I have seen lots of these types of properties on Airbnb but I can also see a lot for sale on eBay etc leading me to wonder why they are selling. I’m wondering if perhaps they haven’t had full permission to keep them there all year and the council are enforcing that they remove them.

has anyone got any experience of this that they could please share? Thank you

The 56-day rule was a temporary measure during the pandemic and has now been dropped. If your "temporary" structure is going to be in place for more than 28 days, you are likely to need planning permission.
