Quick question.
Partner wants to change the executors of his will,to myself and his eldest son.
He's written a codicil. Is this sufficient? Or does he need to rewrite the entire will?

Thanks

If he's done it properly. Signing formalities are the same as for a will, ie sign in the presence of 2 independent witnesses.

thanks
Yes all drawn up correctly, solicitor produced in correct format and language etc. It's just the executors he wants to change.

Well that sounds fine then - suggest he queries with the solicitor if any concerns - it's what you're paying them for!

But yes, a codicil is for when you want to amend a small part of a will. Sometimes people redo the will anyway if eg they don't want others to know that the execs were changed somewhere down the line, but usually that's not needed.

Thanks Peeeas,
Solicitor is ringing tomorrow to clarify.
Really don't want to have to re do the whole will for such a minor amendment.
