Cms variations travel milage? Cost

Ex is saying he is going to apply for variation for travel as with the cost of fuel rising its much more expensive to drive which is understandable. Its 18 miles round trip. 4 x a month. Not sure what cost they give per mile.?
Im not complaining as its only fair just wondering how it works

It has to be over 10 pounds and the money is deducted from gross earnings before they make the calculation. So it probably won't be accepted because it is too low and even if it were, its a deduction from gross earnings.
