Hi,
Just under 3 years ago my husband passed away, the house was in his name only on the title deeds. I've now come to sell the house as I have decided I am ready to move on with my life, a fresh start with me and my children.
I applied for probate 6 weeks ago, sent the death certificate off on the same day but haven't heard anything back.
I have in the meantime put the house on the market and accepted an offer a bit quicker than anticipated 🙈 so my question is does anyone have any idea how much longer it could take?
It's very straightforward, I'm his wife, his estate is just the house and falls way under inheritance tax bracket.

Thank you 😊

If you’re joint tenants you can just do a land registry form; you don’t need probate.

otherwise I hear it’s currently taking 4-6 weeks if the forms are complete and correct.

No, I'm
Not named on tittle deeds at all so I have to go through probate x

My dad’s only took 4 weeks, you can call them
and ask which may be worth doing in case they are missing one document etc they need.

We applied for probate in the middle of March. Very straight forward, expect it to come through in about two weeks time. Probate office are pretty helpful if you call them
